The list was fixed before any of this site was written. All 148 suburbs and localities in the Newcastle and Lake Macquarie statistical area were listed first from Australian Bureau of Statistics boundary files, and the seven were chosen from that full field rather than from a guess about which names sounded right. The Junction was folded into Merewether's page rather than given one of its own, because it is small enough that a separate page would have been the same page with a different name at the top.
Two councils, and why it matters
Four of the seven areas sit in the City of Newcastle: Newcastle, Merewether, Wallsend and Cooks Hill. Three sit in Lake Macquarie: Charlestown, Warners Bay and Belmont. The split matters for a practical reason. Each council sets its own parking rules, so the time limit and the rate on the sign depend on which side of the boundary the practice is. The Hunter New England public dental list names clinics in Newcastle and Wallsend among the seven, and Windale and Toronto in the Lake Macquarie area.
Distance is worth weighing
Implant treatment is not a single appointment at any tier, so the practice you choose is a trip you will make more than once. Wallsend and Belmont sit towards the outer edges of the area this site covers, and Cooks Hill and the city centre sit at its middle. Which of those is a longer run for you depends on where you start. It is a fair question to put to a practice at the first conversation: how many visits, over what period.
